Nyamira senator Okong'o Omogeni made an impromptu visit to Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital on Thursday to find out if doctors have resumed work.
"I came to find out if medics are back to work and to check if the Cuban doctors have settled. I am proud to report that the hospital is fully operational with a steady flow of patients," said Omogeni.
Mr Omogeni added that there were several deliveries reported yesterday in the facility making it evident that doctors and nurses are fully at work.
The senator asked the health department to procure cardiology equipment which the Cuban doctors requested so that they could better their services.
He further asked the county government to complete the stalled doctor's plaza by this year.
