Governor John O. Nyagarama on Friday 5th2019 presided over the swearing in ceremony of the County Public Service Board members, that will take over the functional services of recruitment among other mandates in the County Government’s executive. The ceremony took place at the county boardroom.
The new board is set to start services immediately after the expiry of the terms of service of the previous board. The law stipulates that the office holders for this independent body shall be on a six year non renewable term.
In his congratulatory speech, Governor Nyagarama tasked the newly sworn in board members in their first assignment to advertise and facilitate the hiring of departmental chief officers in order to ease the operations of those departments.
"Before you even head out for induction in a week's time, I direct you to advertise for the position of chief officers since we are late in offering proper services to our people," said Governor Nyagarama.
Present at the swearing in ceremony was the speaker of the county Assembly of Nyamira Hon Moffat Teya who urged the new team to give their best while adhering to the oath of office.
"You should understand that you are among the senior officers in the county, serving a contract period of six years. Adhere to the oath of office and endeavor to offer service to the people of Nyamira or else you live to regret the time wasted in office,” said Hon Teya.
The board will be chaired by Dr. Peter Kereri while Ms. Annah Mwasi will be the board’s Chief executive officer and Secretary. The members will be Mary Mamboleo, Erick Maroro and Ruth Ondicho. Others members will be David Nyachiro and Kennedy Oruko.
