Nyamira County governor H.E Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo officially opened a four day retreat organized for the County Executive and Assembly at the Travellers Beach Hotel and Club, Mombasa County.
The retreat, besides harnessing a cohesive working formula for the remaining period, will also look at drawing a working formula for the two arms and budget implementation through development projects.
"Thank you for coming and I want to appreciate the role of the County Assembly in hastening development in the county through legislation,” said the Governor in his opening remarks to the members.
He reiterated that the four day meeting was about discussing crucial areas such as Budget and Planning, revenue challenges, Intergovernmental Relations, the Building Bridges Initiative, etiquette and challenges facing the county.
Governor Nyaribo urged all the participants to demonstrate high level of synergy, collaboration and cooperation as they work together to harness the resources of government and the goodwill of citizens in delivering good governance, throughout the period of their service at the county.
“Take a deep look into the challenges of revenue collection that is critical to achieving the goals of his administration in delivering better living standards,” Governor Nyaribo noted while challenging the team to deeply look into the challenges of revenue collection and find a strategy to boost it.
Speaking in the same event, Nyamira County Assembly speaker Hon. Moffat Teya reiterated that they will work closely with the County Executive to realize development for the people who elected them.
The meeting is being attended by the County Secretary James Ntabo, Members of the County Assembly, Chief Officers and directors.
