Nyamira county Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo presided over the launch of the sub-county Alcoholic Drinks Committee, whose mandate is to ensure that those dealing with liquor operate within the law.

Further, the Governor said that through proper supervision and enhanced compliance, the county will achieve it's revenue targets for 2021/2022 FY. The Alcohol Control Act 2014 requires the dealers to attain measures put in place, including proper licensing and contained operations.

Through the partnership between the two levels of government and other agencies, the Governor promised for total support to ensure that the team delivers.

"Let's work with the security teams to ensure that people, properties and businesses are safe. This is the only sure way of attracting new investors to the county,” he added.

The CECM for Gender, Youths, Sports and Social Services Dr Grace Nyamongo, assured the committee members for support from the department, and vowed to Fast track the whole process within a short period of time. She further appreciated the Governor's commitment in the whole process, which she said was a signal for better results ahead.
