H.E. Hon. Amos Nyaribo has launched the Universal Health Care programme which is aimed at benefitting the poor and vulnerable households.
The Governor noted that this exercise is in collaboration with the National Government.
According to His Excellency, his administration will target registration of vulnerable Households which currently stand at 76,757 in the County.
"We shall do this in phases and the first phase will cover 20% of the Households totaling to 15,351", noted the Governor.
Governor Nyaribo disclosed that all other phases will be rolled out in the subsequent financial years.
He further urged the Nyamira County Health Management Team to carry out the exercise professionally and ethically to avoid loopholes.
The selection will be based on their poverty and vulnerability status and further ensure that distribution of the Household is done equitably across The Subcounty Units and Wards.
According to the Governor, after identifying the Households, "all the names of the needy cases be pinned on strategic and accessible areas so that the public approves them for transparency.".
The Governor added, "providing vulnerable population with affordable, quality health care remains a pressing challenge to the world. "I urge our constituents to cooperate fully so that only those with needy cases are assisted".
The governor was accompanied by the County Commissioner Amos Mariba ,County Secretary and other county officials.
