Dr. Gesami sworn in as Nyamira’s Deputy Governor, promises to help end poverty amongst the people

Nyamira County’s new deputy Governor H.E Dr. James Gesami has promised to support the Governor as he delivers the County Government’s mandate of improving service delivery to the people.

Speaking after being sworn in at Uhuru gardens in Nyamira town yesterday, Dr Gesami reiterated the need for all leaders to put the interests of the people first.

“Having taken the oath of office today, I endeavor to work with you(H.E the Governor) in fulfilling your vision for Nyamira County which includes improving health services, strengthening agriculture, provision of clean water, opening up of roads and further devolving county government services,” said Dr.Gesami.

“I am passionate about education which is a liberator for all people from all walks of life, I look forward to helping you improve the education standards of our children,” he added.

Dr. Gesami added that as leaders, they should care about the plight of parents who cannot afford to put a meal on the table and the thousands of children unable to go to school because of lack of fees. So is to thousands of the educated youth who are unable to get jobs.

On his part, County Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo said that Dr Gesami has what it takes to be a Deputy Governor and as they begin the new journey together, he promised to support and empower the Office of his deputy so that it can perform its functions fully.

“This will ensure that we deliver to the people of Nyamira County as a government,” said the Governor.
