NYAMIRA COUNTY GOVERNMENT RECEIVES EQUIPMENT FOR GIS LAB

Lands Housing Physical planning and Urban development Ministry today received hardware equipment to assist the department to establish a Geographical Information System G.I.S lab in the County.
The equipment included furniture - a six way workstation, office chairs and one filing map cabinet.
Other expected deliveries include desktop computers, projector, potter, scanner and hand held GPS handsets
They were received by Executive Committee Member in the department Mr Steven Oboso, his Chief officer Josephat Gori, Physical planning Acting director Lamech Nyariki and FAO focal person Evelyne Nyambane at the devolved unit headquarters.
The equipment were donated by Food and Agriculture Organization FAO and the European Union, courtesy of the Digital Land Governance programme.
“This support is considered very timely as the department is working towards finalizing its County Spatial plan that is GIS based with the aim of managing land use management”, Ms Nyambane said.
