Plans are underway to tamarc more roads in Nyamira Township Ward to enhance faster growth of the County headquarters municipality.
The County Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo said his Government was committed to make the County more attractive to attract more investors by improving area roads.
The Governor was speaking today when he commissioned roads in Township and Bonyamatuta wards.
“Nyamira Municipality is expanding and we are keen to ensure our road network matches this growth,” he noted.
The rehabilitation of roads, he added, will also increase the value of property and thus encourage investment such as real estate (rental houses), further contributing to investment and expansion of the municipality.
Roads that were commissioned by the Governor in Township Ward were Gesore TBC- Bomondo Bridge – Rienchogu – Nyairicha - Nyamache Mange (3.5km), Bwombuya Junction - Kisii University (Okeno) - Borabu - Ombane - Nyansanda – Gesore (Fire station) (3km) and Gesonso Junction-Mwamoturi-Nyabite-Egesieri Junction (2km).
In Bonyamatuta Ward, those commissioned were Mobamba Primary School Junction - Nyamonyo - Nyakemincha TBC (2.6km) and Kabatia - Nyangweta – Kiambere (4km).
The Governor who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr James Gesami, further assured business community that there will be fairness in the reallocation of kiosks devoid of corruption that had bedeviled their ownerships.
The two leaders urged area politicians to work with them for faster development of the region.
