Governor Amos Nyaribo flags off one of the vehicles carrying drugs dispatched to various health facilities in Nyamira County.

Nyamira Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo today flagged off drugs worth 29.2 million to various health facilities in the County.
The consignment worth Ksh.11.6m were for dispensaries and health centres while Sh17.6 million were for County Referral and Sub county hospitals.
“Health services is my number one priority in my government. A health County is likely to be more productive in all sectors,” the Governor said before flagging off the health supplies.
The drugs were procured from Kenya Medical Supply Agency (KEMSA).
The Governor said more drugs will be supplied from the Agency to the County in the due course.
The County Boss asked health workers to use the drugs prudently and ensure their safety.
Governor Nyaribo disclosed that his Government had plans to start a Revolving Drug Fund (RDF) to ensure that adequate medical supplies are available in the area hospitals.
The formulation of RDF will ensure that money meant for the purchase of drugs is ring fenced and the revenue from the sale of drugs is also ploughed back for more purchases.
“I urge our County Assembly to come up with an Act that can allow the Department of Health to start this Revolving Drug Fund,” he said.
Governor Nyaribo thanked area medical staff for the improved medical services they were currently offering and asked them to keep the spirit.
Executive Committee Member for Health Dr Donald Mogoi thanked the Governor for providing a conducive environment for medical staff that has contributed to better service delivery.
Others in attendance were the County Commissioner Erastus Mbui, Executive Committee Members Alice Manoti, Steve Oboso, Dr Geoffrey Morara, Bernard Maina and Emily Ongaga.
Meanwhile, H.E the governor disclosed that he and three area MPs met with President William Ruto and discussed a number of issues touching on development of the County.
He said the State visit, centered on improvement of area road, Sironga Aggression Industrial park, Esanige stadium and a bridge connecting Nyamira and Kericho Counties.
