Governor Amos Nyaribo welcoming President William Ruto to Keroka Level Four hospital in Nyamira County where they opened the facility.

The newly refurbished Keroka Level Four was officially opened today.
The well refurbished hospital was opened by the Head of State Dr William Ruto.
The County Governor Amos Nyaribo continued to host the President for the second – day in Nyamira County as the Head of State dished goodies to Nyamira and Kisii counties during his three days visit in Gusii region.
The two leaders were accompanied by other politicians from the region who included Kisii Governor Simba Arati during the tour.
Governor Nyaribo used the occasion to request the President not to tire in supporting the second best hospital in Nyamira County.
Governor Nyaribo who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr James Gesami and Health Executive Committee member Dr Donald Mogoi requested the President to finance more facilities to enable Keroka hospital to offer more quality services.
“We thank you Mr President for the financial support we obtained from your government to complete this hospital. But we need your government financial support to secure this health facility by erecting a perimeter wall around it,” he told the President.
He also requested for an Intensive care unit, modern kitchen and laundry to be built at facility.
Responding, President Ruto said in addition to what the Governor requested, he will provide the hospital with a new ambulance.
He said Community health promoters will be paid half of their monthly dues by the national government while the remaining will be footed by County governments.
On day one, President William Ruto laid a Foundation stone of an administration Block at Kiabonyoru secondary school, funded by Kuwait government.
The Head of State used the occasion to announce that the proposed Nyamira University will be located at Kiabonyoru secondary school.
The President later laid another foundation stone at Kenyerere secondary school in Masaba North sub-county of Kitutu Masaba constituency.
He also announced that his government will establish a medical college (KMTC) at Manga sub-county hospital in Kitutu Masaba constituency.
Nyamira County leaders who included MPs Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Steve Mogaka (West Mugirango), Clive Gesairo (Kitutu Masaba), Patrick Osero (Borabu), Jerusha Momanyi (Woman representative), Irene Mayaka (nominated) and senator Okong’o Omogeni were also in attendance.
