The Nyamira County Government today flagged off medicine and medical supplies worth Kshs 20 million to cushion to various health facilities in the region.
In a speech read on his behalf by Agriculture ECM Alice Manoti, the Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo asked those working in the Health department to ensure that the drugs reached the intended facilities and the patients.
“Our responsibility doesn’t end with the procurement of these medicines, rather, it extends to ensuring that they reach the intended beneficiaries promptly and efficiently,” the Governor said.
He added: “We must be vigilant in monitoring the entire supply chain to guarantee that every facility, regardless of it’s location, receive it’s fair share of these pharmaceuticals.”
The County Boss thanked KEMSA for it’s cooperation and commitment to transparency in the procurement process of the drugs.
He said his Government was committed to ensuring that area residents got adequate health services as he pledged in his manifesto to improve the quality of health care provision.
The drugs in four trucks were dispatched to sub-counties from the County headquarters in a ceremony witnessed by County Secretary Dr. Jack Magara, Acting Health CECM Bernard Maina, County Assembly Health committee chairman Elijah Abere.
