A four-day Agricultural Show has kicked off in Nyamira in a move aimed at educating farmers to improve production.
The show, held by the department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in collaboration with Nyamaka Multi-handling Services(NMHS) is taking place at Nyamira Primary School Grounds.
The Agricultural fair, whose theme is "enhancing technology in agri-business and social interaction " is set to provide a platform for farmers to share ideas, learn new technologies and display their produce to potential clients attending the event.
This is inline with Nyamira Governor H.E Amos Nyaribo's agenda to improve all Agricultural sectors to boost farmers income.
The CECM for Agriculture Alice Manoti, while opening the Agricultural Fair, encouraged farmers to attend the exhibition and learn more new technologies to improve their productivity.
She urged the youth to embrace farming for economic sustainability.
"White collar jobs are not the only road to success. Farming has equally better returns" she said.
Accompanying the CECM were County Secretary Dr. Jack Magara and the CECM for Trade, Bernard Maina.
