NYAMIRA COUNTY GOVERNMENT TO COMMIT KSH. 24 MILLION ON MEDICAL TRAINING.
H.E. Governor Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo today has pledged to commit a sum of ksh 24 million to Cater for needy students joining the Kenya Medical Training College(KMTC) in the next financial year 2023.
"Establishing a revolving fund to support needy students is very key, therefore,I commit a sum of Ksh.24 Million to help 300 needy Students from Nyamira County for a period of three years".He said.
His excellency the Governor, made the remarks at his boardroom where he received a delegation from the KMTC Board, who paid him a courtesy call.
The Governor pledged to provide the necessary support to improve facilities at KMTC
Nyamira Campus.
He said the County Government will closely collaborate with KMTC to develop requisite infrastructure to ensure smooth learning.
" I know we have budget constraints but I'm going to try and ensure we collaborate so that we improve on our infrastructure to enable our students learn in a conducive environment because medical students are crucial in our society ", said the Governor.
He also requested the KMTC Board to add more courses and give priority to the locals in admissions to the campus for the benefit of Nyamira residents.
Thanking the governor on behalf of his delegation, The CEO, Dr Olouch said his team was committed to strengthening and deepening the partnership with the County government, towards improvement of public service delivery.
The delegation from KMTC was led by the CEO, Dr.Kelly Oluoch and Chairperson KMTC board, Zachary Muburi Muita and other board members.
Meanwhile, plans are underway to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County Government of Nyamira and KMTC.
Those present included; CECMs Health; Dr Ombati , Roads; Jones Omwenga, PSM; Dr.Geoffrey Morara and Chief of staff Dennis Onsarigo.
