Mr. Dennis Ondigo Onduko is the County Chief Officer for the Department of Trade, Tourism, Industry and Cooperatives Development.
Mr. Onduko holds Bachelors in Business Management from the University of Kabianga. He is a professional banker having worked with various banking institutions holding different positions among them as a Chief Manager at Paramount Bank, Branch Manager at Diamond Trust Bank, and Assistant Manager in Foreign Exchange at Trust Bank, as a Treasury and Trade Finance head at Paramount Bank and Assistant Manager at Equatorial Commercial Bank.
Additionally, he has obtained professional qualifications from Kenya Institute of Bankers (Diploma in Banking) and Chartered Institute of Bankers (Banking Certificate).
As a Christian, his desired values at individual and work level are honesty, hard work, integrity and impartiality. In his current position, he anticipates to excel and provide quality service to the public while working with others as a team and enhance their potential.
Mr. Lucas Ouma Odida is the current County Chief Officer (Department of Agriculture- Livestock) in the County government of Nyamira.
Mr. Odida is a professional teacher, a holder of a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Nairobi and Primary Teacher Certificate from Highridge Teachers College. He has also attended Life Skills Training of Trainers (TOT) for primary school teachers.
Previously, he has taught at Atela secondary school (History and Kiswahili) and served as well as the Head of Department Humanities. Mr. Odida is an examiner with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
Mr. Odida has good managerial, supervisory and coordination skills that have enabled him accomplish his tasks. He is also eager to learn new things and continuously train.
Mr Josephat Motanya Gori is the current Chief Officer at the department of Lands Housing Physical Planning & Urban Development in the county government of Nyamira.
Mr Gori holds a BSc. in Information Technology, Second Class Honours – Upper Division from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Diploma in Information Technology from the same University. He is currently undertaking a Master of Art in Project Planning & Management at the University of Nairobi.
He previously worked as a Chief Officer at the department of Transport, Roads and Public Works before his appointment to the current department.
Mr Gori has experience spanning over a decade in public service. Prior to joining the county government, he worked as a County Co-ordinator Nyamira, at the Ministry of Interior & Coordination of National Government where he, among other duties, provided policy direction and civil registration operations.
He also served as a District civil registrar – Nyamira and as a Civil registration officer II – Kuria District.Earlier he had served as a direct sales representative at the then Barclays Bank of Kenya and also worked as an Information Technology tutor at Christ the King Cathedral College.
The Chief Officer has admirable technical Managerial skills, Information Technology and Report-writing skills. He values good public relations and good communication skills as key in fronting successful service delivery in public service.
Ombogo Joshua Marwanga is currently the County Chief Officer in the Department of Environment, Water, Energy and Climate Change Nyamira County.
Mr. Marwanga holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA –Strategic Management) from Maseno University, a degree in Bachelor of Science (BSc – Chemistry & Botany) from the University of Nairobi. Curently the Chief Officer is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (PhD -Strategic Management). He has also attained certification in various technical courses including Executive Coaching by The Academy of Executive Coaching- United Kingdom, Management in Health Sector for Senior Managers- University of California, Los Angeles and Grants and Contracts Management by PSI/USAID Kenya Team.
Before joining the County Government, he worked as a lecturer at Kisii University, specializing in Strategic Management and Marketing. Prior, he served as a Program Manager at Population Services Kenya after serving as Regional Program Coordinator (Nyanza Region) at Population Services International (PSI) – Kenya . Earlier, he had worked at Cosmos Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Representative.
Mr. Marwanga aspires to grow into a great leader, and is always working to improve the well-being of humanity, through public service, academia and research.
CPA Asenath Maobe Ph.D. is the current Chief Officer for Economic Planning, Resource Mobilization and ICT in the County Government of Nyamira.
She holds a Ph.D. in Finance, an MBA in Finance, a Postgraduate Degree in International Educational Policy, Leadership and Management, and a Bachelor of Commerce-Accounting (Hons).
The chief officer is a holder of an Honorary Title of Best Post Doc Fellow of UNESCO from East China Normal University (ECNU), 2020, a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA), and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya- ICPAK.
She is also a holder of an Honorary Title of Best Post Doc Fellow of UNESCO from East China Normal University (ECNU), 2020.
CPA Maobe is a self-driven professional with over fifteen years of strong interdisciplinary experience in; Administration, Research, gender works, operational risk management, accounting, auditing, training, education, education policy, investment banking, budgeting, and leadership.
She has an unwavering commitment to client service and delivery, ability to beat deadlines, and a standing work ethic and a team player.
Previously, she has served as a senior lecturer and a former Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance in the School of Business and Economics - Kisii University, where she also chaired the university’s Institutional Scientific Ethics Review Committee (ISERC).
Moreover, she has been involved in a QUAL CASE on Carbon Literacy levels among small holder farmers from Kisii and Nyamira counties, in collaboration with the University College London, UK.
CPA Maobe is passionate about financial literacy, climate change, gender and disaster risk management.
Zipporah Kemunto Orina is the current chief officer at the department of Education and Vocational Training in the Nyamira County Government.
She is a professional teacher with a career progression of over thirty years as a teacher having taught in more than five schools as a P1 teacher including the special unit classes.
She holds a Bachelor of Special Needs Education from Kampala International University, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and another Diploma from the Kenya Institute for Special Education (KISE).
As a Christian and an Adventist, Ms. Orina has had her personal attributes molded by the church’s teachings on hard work, honesty, being faithful and the ability to be able to do her best in and out of season.
She values collaboration, teamwork, time management and punctuality so as to meet the day’s expectations. In her current position, the Chief Officer believes in sharing information and ideas as an attribute to meet the county government’s expectations.
Eng. Josephat Matini Oruru is the current County Chief Officer at the department of Transport, Roads, Public Works and Disaster Management in Nyamira County government.
Eng. Oruru holds a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Project Management.
He has wide knowledge, experience and distinguished career spanning over 17 years in public and private sectors. He has particular experience in planning, design, construction supervision and project administration and management in Municipal, Telecommunication, Structural, Roads and Public Works sectors having served at senior levels for eight years. Prior to his current appointment, the Engineer worked as the Director Transport, Roads and Public Works at the same department.
Eng.Oruru is an accomplished consulting engineer registered with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) with a post registration experience of 12 years. He is also a corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK).
The Engineer has undertaken numerous engineering practices as well as consultancy roles in both public and private sectors and as a strategic thinker, he is result oriented and committed to achieving favorable results. He is versatile and always remains professional at his work.
Besides his professional work, Eng. Oruru is an Adventist and is actively involved in corporate social responsibility activities in support of churches, schools and the vulnerable members of the society.
CPA Dominic Oyugi Barare is the current Chief Officer in charge of Finance and Accounting services in the department of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT in the County government of Nyamira.
The self-driven Chief Officer holds an MBA in Finance and administration, a Bachelor in Business administration (BBA) and is as well a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) with more than twenty years of experience. Before taking office as a County Chief Officer, CPA Barare previously worked as a Deputy Director before rising to the position of Director in the Finance department at the County government of Nyamira.
He has also worked in the banking, roads and Health sectors.
He is also a certified secretary.
With a wealth of experience in the finance division, CPA Barare has built a mastery of professional skills that have enabled him execute his duties well. As a Christian, he believes in integrity and service to humanity as attributes for personal growth at work and outside work.

Mercy Moraa Motanya is the current chief officer in the department of Gender, Youth, Sports and Social Services in the Nyamira County Government.
She holds a Master of Arts in Kiswahili from University of Kabianga and Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. Mercy also has a Postgraduate diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation from Kenyatta University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
She is currently undertaking her PhD in Kiswahili sociolinguistics at Kenyatta University,Professionally, Mercy is a trained teacher having taught at Sironga girls’ high school and Itierio girls’ high school before proceeding to Kenyatta University-Digital school in the Department of Teaching and Quality Assurance.
Mercy Motanya is a person of Integrity, a team player who has a keen eye for detail. She is reliable, honest and delivers quality work and in time. She values effective communication and time management at the work place, qualities she believes will help her take the Education Department of Nyamira County to the next level.
Mercy is an Adventist and a Master Guide. In the church, she has learnt strict work ethics and service to humanity through work that she considers worth applying in her daily activities.
Rael Kwamboka Momanyi is the current chief officer in Charge of the Public Service Management department in the Nyamira County Government.
The Chief Officer is a Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP) (2021), a Certified Secretary (CS), a Trainer of Trainers (TOT), a Governance Advisor; an Educator, a Financial Advisor; Strategic Leader and Manager.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Nairobi (2007), Masters in Business Administration (Finance Option) (2012) and Masters in Human Resources Management (2020) both from Kenya Methodist University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Resource Management at JKUAT.
Ms. Momanyi attained her Certified Human Recourse Practitioner qualification from the Institute of Human Resources Management in the year 2021 after completing the required training from the College of Human Resources Management (CHRM) in the same year.
She previously consulted with Bloomsford Associates as a Human Resources Consultant, served as a Human Resources Management lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Nairobi CBD Campus (2021- 2022). Prior to venturing into Consultancy work, Rael Momanyi served in the Kisii County Government (2013 – 2019) as a Vice Chairperson Kisii County Public Service Board and as an Ag. Chairperson in the same Board (2017 – 2019).
While at the Kisii County Public Service Board, she contributed towards development of Human Resources policies for governing the Kisii County Public Service.
She has also worked as a Banker at Kenya Commercial Bank (2010 -2012) and as a Secondary School Teacher, British Baccalaureate Curriculum at Light Academy Girls Nairobi (2008- 2010). She has also trained in Human Resources Management Information System from the College of Human Resources Management (CHRM); Governance (KCA University and the Advantage Training, Or Tambo Johannesburg; South Africa); Strategic Leadership Development & Senior Management (2019) both at the Kenya School of Government.
Rael Momanyi possesses inter-personal relations skills and professional capabilities for enhancing personal, team and organizational effectiveness-qualities she would love to exploit at her current work place to enhance effective results.
She is an accredited practitioner of Human Resources management with exceptional counseling and psychosocial skills characteristics she believes will be valuable in helping her manage daily activities at work.
