Nyamira integrated agro industrial park to become a game changer, says Governor Nyaribo.

Nyamira County governor H.E. Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo received a delegation from the National Government and representatives from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization [UNIDO] in a two day workshop at Guardian Hotel, Nyamira County aimed at laying plans for the commencement of an Integrated Agro Industrial Park (IAIP).
The workshop was part of the prior arrangements focusing on the official launch by the president, H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
The governor said the project is a Game changer for it was going to benefit more than fourteen counties in the Lake Region Economic Block [LREB] and the local residents.
"This project is a game changer, I'm delighted that it's going to create job opportunities, accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through socially and environmentally responsible industrialization", said the governor.
He added that the county has provided 265 acres of land, fenced 100 acres and committed Ksh.100 million for the park’s activities.
He also added that his administration was committed to continue making budgetary allocations for it for the entire period of its implementation and engage other relevant stakeholders including the Ministerial Development Agencies (MDAs) the private sector and other development partners. 
He also thanked the National Government for considering Nyamira County as the host of the first Partnership Country Programme ( PCP) anchor project.
The team from the National government was led by Jane Mugambi, the secretary Co-ordination of National Development Projects from the Ministry of Interior among other officials.
Ms. Mugambi applauded the governor for the key move.
“I believe that the project is going to attract many investors and other counties who will even come for benchmarking,” noted Ms. Mugambi
The Governor was accompanied by the county secretary James Ntabo, the speaker of the county assembly CPA Moffat Teya, County Executive Committee Members, County Chief Officers, Members of the County Assembly and other senior government officials.
